Branding & Collateral
In April 2020, I started an online store to house and sell my artwork. I developed a brand for the store that was in line with my personality and style of business. Much like a white-walled gallery, the branding enveloped a simplicity and focus on important information or image. To note, the website originally had a similar application, though it has morphed into more of a portfolio site than store.
My first exhibition was derailed by Covid. Rather than stop or wait, I created a virtual exhibition for my followers and collectors to engage with.
RESEARCH & ANALYSIS SAMPLE
Performed a market analysis via Instagram and Facebook to determine where my artwork stood amongst different age groups. This target market analysis helped me determine where and how to advertise my artwork.
Performed a shipping and tax analysis to potentially allow collectors to purchase art from anywhere in the world. Forumlated shipping profiles according to USPS and Royal Mail services.
Created regular content for Instagram, with an auto-repost to Facebook. Content involved imagery for stories and posts, as well as reel creation. While this account has now been made private, it once held 550+ followers. Branded the account to feel more vibrant but still within the Ashley Stuart Art simplistic scheme. Used iconography to share stories and Linktree to guide users to the website. Researched best hashtags for posts.

It's rainy here today, so how about a colorful flower to sprout from it all? Pretty much in love with the shadows this flower is making. Happy Wednesday friends. #watercolour #flower #outdoors #rainyengland #illustration #collage #simplicity #pattern #colorful #collageart #femaleartist #evergreengarden #artcollection #coloricombo
That is a wrap, commission complete! It’s a beauty and is the biggest painting I’ve done. Now that it has delivered to my client, my studio feels empty! Commissions for June are open. Send me a DM, comment on the reel, or via email. #watercolor #onmydesk #commissionedart #watercolorartist #commissionsopen #inmystudio #art #artoftheday #framingprocess
In an effort to get noticed, I created a media kit for myself to announce upcoming news, such as a collection release. Local and international news sources picked up my press releases, interviewed me, and then ran articles about my business. Followers were gained, sales were made; this was a success.
As part of my marketing initiative, I designed, developed, and wrote a monthly email called The Collector. Within these emails I would provide studio updates, new artwork available, and fun freebies like The New Year Kit which gives readers suggestions on how to keep cool. Integrated a pop-up within my website to encourage visitors to sign up. Emails were designed and sent through MailChimp. Set up a number of automated emails that sent out when people subscribed, as well as one-offs each month. All marketing efforts were GDPR compliant.
