Interactive PDF Report
Overview
I was the lead designer on an interactive PDF for The State of Women in Academic Medicine Report. The report detailed reasons woman’s advancement through a medical education career may become narrower as she progresses. The design theme included a pipeline to illustrate the report.
The end-result is an engaging report where the content- and data-heavy information has been designed to be legible, relatable, and understandable. Self-managed throughout the creative process. Deemed "outstanding" by the director. |

For my whole team here, we can't say thank you enough for all your help and thoughtful suggestions over the months. This is an outstanding product and we're so excited to show it off!" |
Infographics
The original pipeline was a pictured as a straight path where the water slowly became less, but with no apparent reason. This could have been interpreted as lack of women interested in the field, or many other ways, but it would not have been interpreted as the client desired.
After studying and discussing, I determined the use of taps and faucets along the way that constrict the flow of water could better represent the data: The decrease in space within the pipeline (system) from various flaws within the system (taps), cause a narrowing where the water (women) can or cannot move through to the faucet (full potential career). |
